THE trial of self-confessed 9/11 mastermind Khalid Sheikh Mohammed and four other men accused of plotting the devastating attacks on the Twin Towers got off to a chaotic start yesterday before a military tribunal at Guantanamo Bay. The defendants engaged in what appeared to be a concerted silent protest against the proceedings.

Stick with That 'Desperate' Look

WHILE Brummie babes have long favoured a more natural look, it appears our Liverpudlian cousins are rethinking their devotion to fake tan and the now infamous "Scouse brow". Beloved by the stars of reality show Desperate Scousewives, the heavily-tanned, heavily-browed look has fallen foul of the organisers of Liverpool Fashion Week, who have outlawed big hair and big brows on the runway.

Foster Back in the Frame Now Roy's the Boy

THE one person who Roy Hodgson's appointment could benefit the most is Ben Foster and I think he is in with a real shout of coming back into the England fold - and why not? I think the goalkeeping position is, apart from Joe Hart as No.1, pretty much up for grabs in terms of who is Hart's understudy. I don't think Roy will discount anyone, even those who have said they don't want to play for England again - a new manager means new decisions for players like Foster and Paul Robinson.

Hodgson a Fantastic Choice by Fa to Lead England

IDON'T understand why the national press seem to be against the appointment of Roy Hodgson as England manager - but what's for certain is they are. Roy may not have the support from most of Britain's media but I do know he will have the players' 100 per cent backing and is a very popular choice.
