Summary
ARRESTS in the West Midlands have nearly halved in just three years.
Around 7,500 suspects are being held in custody every month by West Midlands Police compared to a peak of more than 13,000 in May 2007. Chief Constable Chris Sims said cells at stations could shut in the week and only open on weekends, when arrest rates are higher.See the full content of this document
