Eleanor Palmer was a keen cyclist who regularly travelled around the leafy lanes of Birmingham, Warwickshire and Worcestershire in the 1940s. Eleanor Burrows, as she was in those days, was a member of the Billesley Wheelers cycling club who rode out every Wednesday evening and most weekends. Eleanor, also known as 'Nellie' and 'Bunny' is now 96 years-old and lives in Canada, but has written this account of cycling 100 miles in a day.

I HAD always enjoyed cycling and joined my brother Bill's club in about 1940.
