THE Nottinghamshire force is rated as one of the worst performers among the 43 in England and Wales.

Two years ago, an Inspector of Constabulary condemned the force and advisers were sent in to improve its crime detection rate. A Home Office report later branded the force 'too passive' in tackling crime.
