A FORMER children's hospital chaplain has appeared in court charged with child sex offences.

Stuart Charrington is currently chaplain at Blakenhurst Prison and did the same job for five years at Birmingham Children's Hospital. The Sunday Mercury can reveal that the veteran minister is alleged to have made child porn images between 2004 and January 2011 by downloading images from the internet. It is understood that Mr Charrington worked at the hospital up until 2003.
