Summary
FLASH OF GENIUS (12) is a film about the man who invented intermittent windscreen wipers - but hang on, don't stop reading! It's more interesting than it sounds. Greg Kinnear plays Bob Kearns, a lecturer in electrical engineering in Detroit in the 1960s who hates squeaking windscreen wipers and, after tinkering in his basement, invents a better version. Ford are delighted until they suddenly pull out of the deal - then months later launch a Mustang with his wipers. Kearns sues and becomes obsessed with the case, to the detriment of his marriage and mental health. Kinnear is great, so too is Alan Alda and Lauren Graham, though it's too long and predictable.
THE HAUNTING IN CONNECTICUT (15) is a supernatural thriller based on a true story. It revolves around a closeknit family pushed to the brink by unseen forces when they move into a new home in Connecticut. It's a lot like The Amityville Horror but isn't particularly scary.See the full content of this document
