LIONS couldn't force the win they desperately needed despite a strong comeback after a shaky first-half display. Rugby had a lucky escape when DKs' Andy McLellan missed a penalty from in front of the posts on three minutes. DKs dominated early on and threatened a try several times. Lions forced themselves into the game but sloppy play cost them good attacking positions.
Some powerful driving led to Glenn Bond's penalty putting Lions 3- 0 up after 25 minutes. But DKs fought back and scored tries through Ben Connett and Warren Port. Two conversions and a penalty by McLellan, to a Bond penalty, left Lions 17-6 down at half-time.See the full content of this document
